Lovely venue!! We thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips, nice variety of ciders and beers too. Ample parking for cars and caravans - wonderful garden with tables and chairs, benches and cute pods for that added privacy - attentive and friendly service from the staff - would certainly visit again. Thanks Fred! 😀

Since new management took over in Nov 2021 the pub food has gone from gastro to ghastly! Also, extremely expensive for the quality of food! Such a shame, one of our favourite local pubs gone from 5 Star to 1 Star :-(

So I don’t know where to really start Firstly everybody needs to understand this is not the restaurant It was a couple of years ago with good reviews, All they Have done is jump on the bandwagon of the old pub. We turned up on Mother’s Day after travelling over an hour, As we had believed we were turning up to a restaurant that had amazing reviews. I need to warn everybody that the food and service is below average if you could give A minus stars then I would of I will be honest with you The food quality is not even below-average the food is terrible actually I’ve never in my life experience anything like it everything taste exactly the same greasy overcooked As for the Yorkshire pudding please be careful that you do not drop it on the floor as it will cause damage to the floor, The whole experience was something I’ve never experienced in my life When they came over to the table and Asked us why we did not eat the food we told them and they said oh okay Everything is just too much to ask If you're going to book a table hear you have been warned, you don't have to believe me go yourself and experience it ❗❗

So, so, so disappointing. This place used to be amazing - a personal favourite restaurant, but has fallen a long way under new management. Where to start? Website no longer up-to-date: don’t check online in advance and expect to get what you want. Staff rude, borderline hostile at points - challenging members of our party as to why they were late; leaving the rest of the group to wait until everyone had arrived for drinks. When party asked if any vegan alternatives were available (beyond the one on the menu - not much of a selection, but also not expecting them to prepare meals they’re not advertising), the response was ‘we have salmon’. Also, vegans beware: chips are cooked in same fryer and oil as fish etc., but still advertised as vegan. Possible this was a miscommunication based on the previous interaction, but can’t be certain. Quality of food that came was poor. Much much worse than it used to be. Burger overdone and chewy. Onion rings in soggy batter. All 7 chips (yes, 7) that came with the burger had an earthy dryness to them. Maybe a bad batch, maybe old. Cheesecake very unpleasant: wet, almost jelly like. Coffee served in plastic cup for some reason… Individually these problems might not be quite so bad - “teething problems” of a new regime - but together they really added up to completely miserable experience From start to finish we were treated like we were an inconvenience. And what we ate, for the money we paid, was shocking. Please don’t write this review off as ‘just’ the ramblings of a disgruntled, entitled customer. No joy has been derived from this process - only deep sadness that a place my family and I loved for many years is now no more. And what’s worse is that it seems to have happened overnight. I would love to believe this The Offord Shoe will be missed.

Unfortunately the heating had failed at the time of our visit but that was rather beyond their control. The service and food were very good and would recommend it. We will return again next time we are passing that way.
