Positioned in a great location in the centre of Oxford, The Independent Cafe has a lovely inviting feel and simple, elegant decor. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and most of all, the coffee is amazing. If you're hungry there is the usual array of pastries as well as a range of tasty sourdough toasted sandwiches. A great find and well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

A pleasant establishment offering a fair variety. Service variable. I ordered a bacon and fried egg Bap. The bacon and the bap were very good, but the egg seemed to have been prepared in a mould of some kind, thus removing the essential joy of a nicely basted egg. But I would return and recommend it.

Beyond expectations - is it wheelchair friendly ( very rare in oxford :) ) The drinks come in these aesthetically pleasing cups. The food we tried was consistently good and worth what we paid for. However the coffee itself is not great at all. Cannot wait to come here more often for the atmosphere. It does not matter if you want to catch up with friends, get a post walk café or do some serious group studying this is the palace for it. The aesthetics inside are to die for, the noise levels are super low and the staff are just the most wonderful people you could meet !! It is located just across from the beautiful college grounds and just off the main street so it avoids the busy bustle .
