What a little gem! First time visit, bank holiday Monday lunch. A very warm, comfortable and spacious country pub with excellent food and service. Three in our party - all left agreeing to revisit ! Good choice of starters, mains and puddings. When each course arrived - WOW! Super home made burger (*2) and poached smoked haddock - simply delicious! Ample portions, all presented very well AND hot! Puds of bread & butter pudding, cheese cake and sticky toffe pudding did not disappoint. All plates cleared ! Service was very friendly. All round a lovely experience. Highly recommended.

Had a meal. The patio area is really nice and looks out towards trees, with birds singing in them. The tomato soup tasted really good and was nicely presented. The fish and chips, however, did disappoint. The batter smelt quite unpleasant and made the fish less than appetising; the peas were like dried berries. Upon leaving, I looked at the opposite table, and the people who had just left the table had also felt the same about the peas because they (the peas) had been left uneaten on the plate. The staff were good though. Completely off topic but I must mention that at Christmas time The Moon had made an impressive effort with the lights that they had put up around the building!

I would like to add my positive experience of dining here yesterday with two colleagues for a business lunch. Great parking, friendly welcome and excellent assistance from Abby who took and served out orders. Very comfortable and genuinely good food with one of the specials which was bass fillet and chips delicious and beautifully cooked. A colleague fo my wife said this pub was good and it is.
