High tables set in the lower bar with a good portfolio of ales and good quality wines. The restaurant is down a couple of steps which is popular with tourists, ramblers and locals alike. The garden area at the front benefits from all day sun and 2 newly developed rear courtyard gardens act as a suntrap throughout the day.

Starters are really something with the buttermilk wings superb in a spicy sauce and black pudding scotch egg perfect.
Loved the fish and the steak would return if ever in this neck of the woods again.

Courtney Jowsey2 StarThe food came freezing, the onion bhaji was salty, the masala was bland and watery. Honestly I’m so annoyed as the reviews are fantastic. I genuinely think if people down here had an Indians in Newcastle/North Tyneside you would never enjoy an Indians down here again as I’m still yet to find a nice one.
Don’t know how my food can be freezing when they’re only 8 minutes away! Very disappointed waste of £22. 100% giving up on any type of takeaway.Monday 23rd May 2022
C H.B3 StarMeh , this place is OK bit nothing special, take away was not great I guess if your tired and hungry it would fill a gap but nothing at all to shout about. Easting in is a bit better but sadly the place lacks atmosphere as it is always empty. Sad really because it's a beautiful site to have a restaurant/pub . Only gave 3 stars because staff are nice .Friday 5th August 2022
