We hope you can find everything you need.

Castle Camps is a charming village on the Cambridgeshire, Essex and Suffolk borders- in fact you can cross all three counties with a good afternoon walk. An Ale house has stood on this site for more years that we can imagine, having a host of changes along the way, The Cock was once 'The Fox' and before that Carters. & Now The Oak

Once again changes have been made to freshen up the pub with recent renovations.

If it was possible to give The osk 10 star we would. This flat is equipped with the most beautiful and super comfortable furniture, beautiful kitchen utensils, and the attention to details is so impressive. The bath abd bathroom are heaven and you need not bring washing products with you as they are all of the highest quality. Lesley us a generous and charming host. She let us arrive early and leave late without any charge, and supplied us with every information we asked for. The pub under the flat is simply gorgeous. authentic, with a beautiful fireplace and comfortable seats and sofas, and authentically decorated. The people of Castle camps were very welcoming to us, and we ended up playing with many dogs and being invited in for tea. We will be back as soon as we can, thank you so very much Lesley for everything!

Thursday evening it opened its doors at 6 pm. Always a good selection of Beers bearing in mind it is a Free House so they change accordingly . The variety of meals and the quality is always to a high standard. Finally the reception and attention of the staff cannot be faulted. For a country pub with character give it a try

Stayed here for a week and we felt at home. Five stars all the way for the nest. We all enjoyed the food and drinks and its all really good value and freshly cooked. Nothing was too much trouble for Lesley and she works very hard and takes such a pride in her pub. Well worth a visit and they made our grandson so welcome he wants to come back for a treat.

We have just returned back to Derbyshire today after staying for 2 nights at The Oak in Castle Camps. We went for my sisters wedding and WOW what a fantastic pub this is. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment above on Friday and Saturday night. It is absolutely spotless and finished to a very high standard with everything you need. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly and such good fun. They cannot do enough for you. We had Fish and chips on the Friday evening and i have honestly never tasted Fish and chips like this. If i lived closer i would go every Friday! Then we had a 3 course meal for the wedding on the Saturday. I had the pate to start and the roast pork dinner with all the trimmings, followed by chocolate fudge cake and it was perfectly cooked and presented. There were empty plates all around. Before we left this morning we had bacon and egg on hot rolls and they were the best i had tasted again. I was greedy and had 2 of them. The beds in the apartment were super comfy and it was so fresh and modem with lovely little touches and i was absolutely impressed with everything. its complete value for money and i would love to go back there very very soon. Thank you so much for a fabulous weekend.

Lovely pub. I did not eat but what I saw coming out looked very nice. Takeaway service offered and used. Beer was very well kept.
