The Old School Café is a friendly, community coffee shop offering cake and coffee, light lunches and afternoon tea. Located in a new conservatory-style extension, with lovely views our grounds. Walkers and dogs are very welcome, and cycle racks are available for cyclists. The Old School is operated by Future Wolverton, a not-for-profit Community Benefit Society, and it operates very differently from most community buildings. The three social enterprises that are based at the building are run by a small team of paid staff, who work alongside Work Placement Trainees. Our trainees come from a variety of backgrounds, but all of them need some extra support on their personal journey to paid employment. The Old School provides a place where they can experience a variety of work tasks, and gain skills and qualifications. As part of our work with young people we are pleased to be able to offer EOTAS (Education Other Than at School) places at the Old School. In agreement with the SEND team at Milton Keynes Council, we are able to provide EHCP funded places to young people aged 16 to 25 years old as part of their EOTAS package. Making Tracks at the Old School provides help and support to young people and adults with autism, ADHD and long-term mental health conditions in their journeys towards paid employment, whether starting out and in need of some confidence building or further along your employment journey. The Old School has a fabulous wooded setting and is located very close to Ouse Valley Park and the Grand Union Canal. Our “Into Nature” Programme is all about exploring and learning about this environment and includes our popular Forest School sessions for families during school holidays.

We went to a family party, our hosts had booked the whole venue. Great size hall and kitchen area. Wheelchair accessible, although the car park is very small. There was no adult size changing area in the disabled toilet but it was clean and had a baby changing table.

A friend took me to The Old School cafe yesterday for brunch. Cosey wee cafe that allows customers to take their dogs indoors too. Also hive autisyic students the opportunity to gain work experience and build confidence in social situations. I had jome made carrot and coriander soup with a cheese scone - both scrumptiously delicious and surprisingly filling. I also ordered a toasty sarny with side salad and coleslaw which was also delicious but couldn't quute manage it all. So lovely to exchange greetings with other dog owners and fill our bellies before heading backmout jnto the drizzle. Highly recommend.
