Carole Baker1 StarI have just had the most appalling treatment in this store from an unprofessional shop assistant and am furious! Having waited at the middle till for a while I realised the only shop assistant was serving a couple at the front - so made my way there and waited patiently. I asked for a bag of Sylvagrow and because she had to go to the back of the shop to check she asked if she could just serve the woman behind me - I meekly agreed (the woman said she had to catch a bus - but my dogs were in the car outside, so I was in a hurry!) - she served the woman, but not quickly - they walked over to the bulbs to choose some more. At this point I'd had enough and walked out - I will NEVER shop in this place again (and I have been a regular local customer over a number of years). Very disappointed - how rude!!
My Response to your Reply: Dear Eugenie, I think you've rather missed the point with your 'apology'. I wasn't complaining about the time I had to wait - I am a patient and courteous shopper and I waited quietly while you were chatting to the couple before me who bought birdseed - it was the fact that you began to serve me and then stopped in the middle of the transaction and decided to serve the woman who had only just arrived behind me. Most shops in Totnes are busy on Saturdays, but there is no excuse for poor customer service and your actions were thoughtless and unkind. Whilst I appreciate your offer, I'd already made the journey to Fermoys to buy two bags of compost when I received it. I'm afraid you've lost my loyal custom but hopefully others will not receive the same treatment. Kind Regards.Saturday 24th September 2022
