Mark Davie4 StarNice pub with outside seating in a lovely village. Food was nice and not too expensive. Staff helpful.Wednesday 20th April 2022
Roxy Payne1 StarUpon check in, no one was available. Tried to call the number in the booking but no reply. Found a number on the outside of the pub and the person on the other end was very rude that we should have had a number to get in. Alas, no number to be found. They reluctantly came out to give us our keys. Pub had a private party for darts players. At 11.20pm, we phoned to ask when the noise would settle as we could hear both music and conversation through the floorboards. Person on the other end was again rude that it was a pub before accommodation and that we should have known this. Have checked the booking site we use, as well as others, this is not clear. Whilst on the phone, we asked for the heating to come. They said they had oil heating and they'd just turned it on. Low and behold, the heating didn't turn on. Outright lie as during the early hours of the morning, the electric heating turned on. No thermostat to control temperatures so the had a boiling hot room. No heating in the bathroom so toilet was very cold throughout the night. In the morning, there wasn't enough warm water so after a few minutes of warm water running, the rest of the shower was a cold one. No one to hand over keys on the way out to report the stay - not that they'd probably care given their brash attitude on the phones. Avoid!Monday 21st March 2022
Deborah booker5 StarA real gem in a perfect setting.
Hotel is fabulous, spotless, welcoming. Room 6 was spacious and clean and very comfortable.
Sian and Lee are all you could hope for as hosts and the locals very friendly.
But the food!! Oh my the food was great! All cooked by Lee and everything was just yummy.
I don’t have a bad word to say about the Rose and Crown. Try them, you won’t be disappointed.Monday 7th February 2022
