Ended up in this pub when a nearby pub wouldn't serve us as they only dealt with bookings, it was totally empty. Their loss our gain. Great staff and the chicken pie was fantastic. Returned the following week for that pie and again they delivered. The spicy wings were also good. That pie is worth a journey. Superb setting, food and staff.

I've eaten in this pub many times! Had some great meals. Today was a disaster. 1hr 20min wait for main course. Pub wasn't busy, 1 other table eating. Burger was not upto standard as it was under cooked. Chicken burger was very soggy..I was told there's a staff shortage.£110 bill and then come home and order a takeaway changes definitely needed. But a great pub and food normally.

Avoid this pub. While the food can be very good, The family that run it are aggressive, abusive and dont deserve your custom. My wife and two young children visited here for the second time with our friends who recommended the pub to us with their two children. Upon entry, the lady owner was rude but we looked past that. The service in the pub is slow but the non-family staff are pleasent. We ordered drinks and our food, requesting small changes for the Kids and additional yorkshire puddings. nothing out of the ordinary When it came to pay, we thought we'd ask to speak to the owner to give some feedback about the overal service, largely as we liked the pub but service was missing the mark and thought they might be interested in improving, however as the 'Dad' came over it was immediatley clear he wasnt interested and took immedate offense. He then started hurling abuse at us in front of our children (1yr, 3yr and two 6 year olds) We did shout back in defense but then things went surreel with the whole family hurling abuse and trying to get physical. baring in mind the kids were with us, and crying they didnt seem to care and we feared for their safety. So much so we had to call the police to attend to calm it down. Its a real shame and wouldn't want anyone else to go through that experience and have to deal with the vile family.
