Visited the Samling Hotel with 2 other people for dinner. We were welcomed and sat at a table with a wonderful view over the countryside. The seven course meal was spectacular and it certainly lived up to its Michelin star. Staff were very pleasant and made us feel very comfortable. The wine was pre ordered and it was exquisite. The restaurant was spacious and elegant with chic decor. Thank you for your accommodation!

Had an amazing time at the samling restaurant last night. Food was absolutely incredible, almost too good to eat and the service was great. Servers made us feel really welcome and had such attention to detail. Not to mention the incredible view, what an evening!

Visited this hotel for Sunday lunch. The food and service was absolutely amazing. The cheese board and matching wines were particularly fantastic. Very Friendly and professional staff who made the experience very enjoyable.

There can’t be many (any?) places in the country better suited to celebrating a round number birthday or special anniversary for a night or two. The view of Lake Windermere after you’ve driven up the hill is a breath taker for a start. Not cheap, of course, but amazing attention to detail and superb food - the evening tasting menu is £115 per head and same again for wine pairing but it’s dining as theatre, not to mention fantastic flavours. If you’re staying here two nights, have a credit-card moment and eat here both nights, you won’t regret it. All staff really lovely but Karah stood out for her naturally friendly hospitality
