The Curvy Riders Motorcycle Club (Essex Region) descended on The Ship Stock today for our annual Christmas lunch and we had the best day. Maria and staff looked after us and didn’t miss a beat, even though we were a big group. The food was amazing (big portions!) and everyone said it was great value for money. We’ll definitely be back.

The place itself is very warm and welcoming. The staff are attentive and friendly. The food was tasty enough although it did seem perhaps a little overpriced for what it was and the menu was quite limited. Can definitely recommend the rarebit mac side, very tasty. Overall nice but probably wouldn't rush back.

Loved the pub and the surrounding area. Staff were very friendly and good service. Out of the two meals the roast was very good but the burger was poor. The meat tasted cheap and rubbery and the bacon had little to no taste, disappointingly bland. Prices on the higher side for food.

Had a fantastic night out for dinner, drinks and karaoke on my birthday with family and friends!!! Fun was had by all!!! Staff were friendly. Food was delicious. Great atmosphere.

Very limited menu that wasn't on website. Only main meals were chicken pie, fishfinger sandwich and club Sandwich which was disappointing as we went for a full meal so only had one choice of main meal. Dessert menu had only cheese, sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake so only 2 sweet options and there was no sticky toffee pudding so only one sweet. Decided to just have coffee but they don't do decaffeinated, even instant. Was such a disappointment as was my dad's birthday and we chose the pub based on the menu that was on the website.
