Located in the beautiful ancient village of Axmouth in Devon, the Ship Inn is a family run restaurant and pub featuring a sumptuously varied menu offering locally sourced meats, fresh fish from Lyme Bay, hand-picked crabs from Beer and vegetables from nearby farms.
The Ship Inn also boasts a huge beer garden in the back with stunning views out over the River Axe, and a skittle alley that can double as a function room for special events.

Trev Elyan5 StarLovely setting by the river, the weather was too miserable to sit outside, but the pub inside is spacious and airy.
The food was excellent both in quality and price. The portions were ample and there were plenty of fresh vegetables. I chose the sea bass, which was delicious.

The staff are friendly and helpful and accommodated a small adjustment to my husband's order without any fuss. I had the homemade steak and kidney pie which came with an impressive selection of vegetables. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Glyn Roberts5 StarHave missed this place due to covid but, the family could not have been more pleased that the standard of the staff, menu and surroundings were as good as ever! That good we made x2 family dining bookings within 6days!!
All in all SUPERB! here's hoping we will be able to make our more usual and regular attendance.

Pete Nelson (Willow)5 StarI called in on the off chance to grab a afternoon lunch at the Ship Inn not booking a table, Sarah an the girls fitted me without any problem I was very grateful, I sat outside in the garden because I didn't want to take up valuable table spaces that was reserved. I had the steak and kidney pie and pea's/chips what a great tasty pie plenty of meat & kidney juicy gravy. Thanks again everyone I much appreciated.
