Welcome to The Skirrid Inn

At over 900 years old, The Skirrid Inn is Wales’ oldest pub and truly one of a kind.

Located in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park, the Skirrid Inn is steeped in history, overflowing with character and charm, from its roaring fires to its stone walls and wooden panelling.

Stay a night or two – or take part in one of our thrilling ghost hunts – and you might even encounter a spooky surprise if the legends are to be believed.

Behind the bar, we have a wide selection of real ales, European lagers, ciders and fine wines which can be enjoyed either indoors or outdoors in our large beer garden – perfect for those Welsh summer nights.

Our menu is based on traditional pub classics like steak & ale pie, fish & chips and Welsh beef lasagne – we’ve got something to cater for all tastes. On top of this, we offer a traditional Sunday roast (with plenty of gravy!), which will leave the whole family smiling from ear to ear.

Guest accommodation consists of three tastefully furnished ensuite rooms, two with four-poster beds and one cottage bedroom. The cottage bedroom consists of one double bed with ensuite bathroom, TV, and tea and coffee facilities. All of our guest rooms have lovely country views and you can easily wander down to the bar to relax over a drink and a meal.

We pride ourselves on offering all our customers, old and new, exceptional service, but above all a memorable experience, whether they’re visiting us for a drink, a bite to eat or taking advantage of our comfy bed and breakfast.

Came here for a meal followed by a paranormal night. The food was delicious and servings were generous. .the staff were friendly and easy to talk with. The venue is very unique in its set up and boasts that it is the 'Most Haunted Pub in Wales' We can certainly vouch for the Haunted part. With Fanny price and a little girl called Emily along with a ladies man called Colin we were certainly entertained and enlightened over the course of the night. There are many companies that carry out the paranormal nights, but the pub can tell you of upcoming events if you are interested. Certainly a night not to be forgotten easily.

Second visit here and the views never fail to thrill. Excellent car park and we'll maintained paths. You need to be fairly fit to make the ascent but you can take your time if you need to.

Really enjoyed our visit for dinner. Really accomodating. Food was great and really well priced. The one lady on the bar was great friendly service even when rushed off her feet. Beers were good I had a mixed grill which was very tasty and massive. Dog friendly. Will come again.

Only came for the food and ambiance and neither disappointed. The history of this place made it one of my favorite stops while in the area. Love that they played up their hauntings and wish that I could have stayed at least one night.
