We booked a Sunday carvery for 12:30 for a group of 6 people. We were served our drinks and told we’d be told when we could go up to the carvery. The table next to us was empty, but a group of 8 people arrived after us and went straight to the carvery. The entire area where we were sat seemed to get their carveries, eat, pay and leave while we were still left waiting. We asked staff several times only to be assured each time it wouldn’t be long, then the story changed to they were replenishing the carvery. After waiting a whole hour, we gave up and left. My husband explained to a member of staff that we were leaving and their response was they could do without his attitude. Unbelievable, terrible customer service for a group of decent, hungry people who waited an hour for a carvery that never happened. We went to the Berkeley arms at spetchley and were served a lovely carvery within 15 minutes of arriving. Needless to say, we would not recommend the wheelbarrow and castle and will NOT be visiting it again. Very bad, disappointing experience.

Under new management from 19th July 2022 and what a difference. We all had an amazing meal perfect steaks, homemade onion rings, triple cooked chips, great children's menu and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely worth a visit we will definitely be going again

Visited today for the first time with 7 of my family members. After noticing only 1 pot of onion gravy within the carvery section, I poured it over my meal, as I walked past the carvery section I then noticed a separate pot of standard gravy which I would have preferred. I asked a member of staff if I could change my meal and was told ‘no’, I asked to speak to the manager but sss refused this also & then overheard the bar staff calling me ‘shitty’ and was then told that it’s how they had set out their carvery for 7 years, she even said I should have been made aware of the separate gravy but still refused to change my meal. The seats were flaking and covered my little boy’s legs & hands in black bits, which even ended up in his food and mouth but I didn’t bother saying anything as the staff had already been far from friendly and accommodating. A big disappointment, I’d have walked out if we hadn’t driven over an hour to visit family for a birthday meal for my little boy. Such a letdown and ruined the day.

Booked a table. Service was prompt and pleasant. Food was great, Special offer Fish and Chips for £5.99, had very nice desserts and a couple of drinks. Very good, highly recommended

Very pleasant lunchtime get together. Friendly attentive staff. Good choices on the menu. Well presented tasty food. Well worth another visit.
