Lovely large room, very clean. It was quiet too which is always a bonus. The restaurant was busy, but as we were staying night the lady at reception booked us a table. So much to eat we had a walk around village

Enjoyed our meal there although service was very slow. Found it difficult to attract the waiters attention. Nobody bothered to check our table once the food was delivered. Couldn't attract service to order a second drink. In the end had to find the waiter station to pay the bil

£10:15 for a gin & tonic and a small bottle of non alchoholic lager! Quite a price to pay for a pub in the middle of nowhere. Really encouraging the anti drink driving campaign. The menu was one of the A5 laminated jobs.'restaurant' is a bog standard pub type affair. We attended a private party in the 'cellar'area. Very small space,with a small bar, with two members of staff behind the bar. Even with one couple in front of us we had to wait as the two staff split the serving duties of the one couple between them. The decking area is a bit uneven and poorly lit. We witnessed several mishaps and trips. The staff bringing food from the kitchen to the party were very good at offering at the tables on the decking on their way through. A nice touch. The most damming thing I can say about this establishment is that on the two occasions I walked through the bar area: once just after arriving and once just before leaving; 19:20- 22:25 is that on a balmy Saturday evening the bar was completely empty. Maybe we aren't the only ones who baulk at the prices.

Saved us from not very nice mis-sold accommodation. Welcomed us warmly and looked after amazingly for 2 nights. Food is superb and all the team are lovely.
