A Warm Welcome
The World’s End is one of Dorset’s best-known pubs, located at the “gateway to Dorset” just off the A31 as you drive between Wimborne and Bere Regis. As part of the nearby Charborough Estate, it’s a place full of character and history. It has been a pub for almost 600 years - rumoured to be the oldest in Dorset - and during the war, Churchill and Eisenhower were said to have met at the pub to discuss preparations for D-Day.
Today, we have an extensive, beautiful garden and large country meadow with children’s play area, away from the bustle of the road offering alfresco drinking and dining during the summer months. Inside, the long bar is warm, welcoming and inviting in all seasons with cosy fireplaces and wooden beams. Put yourself at easy in our spacious garden & meadow, a beautiful open space for busy family groups or tuck yourself away in quiet corners for reading the papers.
As a free house, there’s something for everyone – offering local, seasonal food, and a broad range of real ales and Dorset ciders from Dorset, as well as world class wines and spirits.
This is a traditional pub that offers a great dining experience for busy travellers and laid-back locals. Everyone is welcome – families and children, cyclists, walkers and dogs!
