Parking at Cripps

Parking for members is available for 60p from 3pm Monday to Friday and all weekend in the two main car parks next to Cripps. Please note the main car park in front of Cripps is not available on bank holidays.

These are accessible through the hospital grounds. In addition, members must display a Trilogy parking permit alongside their ticket which is available from Cripps Recreation Centre.

Limited parking is also available beneath the Cripps Centre accessed from the Bedford Road and is for members only. This car park is operated by Parking Eye and members need to input their vehicle registration details into a keypad in the central hub each time they visit the centre to avoid a £100 parking charge.

The nearest public carparks are Midsummer Meadows, St Johns and St Michael's Multi Story carparks.

The facilities are great and the cleaner there is the most nicest and hard working person I've ever met, yet the managers were incredibly disrespectful towards the cleaner upon what myself and others would say to be a lie as they suggested that the female cleaner was abusive towards member and staff despite the female cleaner being an incredible woman, as well as saying that she makes the rooms 100% worse than before she gets there however that female cleaner has been the foundation of the interior appearance being so clean and even when a member over heard the horrible conversation that the managers had with the cleaners and even said that it was a lie and that the female cleaner is amazing in both attitude and cleaning, the managers simply turned around and said "its non of your business" when I'd argue that it is the members business as its apparently the members complaints upon the fantastic female cleaner that supposedly lead them to disrespect the cleaner to the point where she was in tears afterwards. I am completely disappointed and disgusted upon the behaviour of the managers upon creating lies of an innocent, fantastic in both behaviour and cleaning. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!👎

Review is for pool use only. Decent sized pool and unlike some other local pools the temperature is fairly stable (a few others have frequent heating issues!). The pool could use more frequent cleaning but that's the bottom and not really an issue. The facilities are clean and well kept. Loses a star as paying 60p to park every time adds up. I know its in a hospital but if you're a paying user, it feels a little much, especially if you do not live locally enough to just walk in (two hour walk).

I didn't use the gym, I had a course in one of the rooms upstairs. The guy working in the gym was helpful and let me upstairs and told me where to go. The room had a bar, but sadly was not stocked for my course that day. The room was also quite dated, like it belonged in a smokey old pub when you were able to smoke in pubs

They don't care about their swimmers. I've been a member for 10 years and watched as times for the pool have been cut back more and more, whether due to staffing or renting it out to swim and triathlon teams. The pool is now only open until 8pm on weekdays, closed Fridays evenings and weekend afternoons. Yesterday I went in and was told the pool now shuts at 7pm on Thursdays because they're renting it out to a diving club. (And they couldn't be bothered to tell me this till I was literally stepping out poolside, good job Cripps.) Mounts, the next closest pool, also has no evening Thursday swim. You'd think they'd make one of them available! I have an appointment to look at Virgin gym, because it's the only other Northampton gym with a decent pool. I'd rather not sign up to an expensive gym I'll need to drive to, but what's the point in being a member of a pool that you can barely use? The way it's going, in a couple of years, Cripps will be shut at 5pm every evening and rented out for private swim lessons for children C'mon, Cripps. You're selling your members out to private groups.

Love this place, Best equipment and usually quiet. Sauna or steam would be great...
