The Trout Inn is a family run country riverside pub by the weir pool to St. John's Lock which is the first lock on the River Thames.

Penny and her family have been running the Trout Inn for nearly 30 years and maintain the tradition of good food and drink in this unspoilt Thames side inn.

Great pub! Lovely outdoor setting next to the river! Really friendly staff and couldn't have catered better for us being a group of 20 odd ladies, The Chef in particular was really kind and nothing was too much trouble for her. Nice to have more than one vegetarian options and they were all quite varied. Looking forward to returning again and would definitely recommend this pub to others.

I love this pub. Friendly staff, lovely food and a fabulous location. Unfortunately the last couple of times I've been, the long wait tines for food as prevented me from eating there. My son doesn't eat hot food and doesn’t comprend time or waiting (autistic)..he does enjoy his packed lunch and lemonade though in the garden though and it's a great view.

My wife and I were travelling from South Wales to Leighton Buzzard and I was looking for a good pub with a nice beer garden about halfway through our journey. After a bit of planning and research I found the Trout Inn ticked the box so we decided to call in, and we are so glad we did. The weather looked a bit grim for the beer garden, which is large and right on the Thames, so we had to go inside, but to be honest that was fine. Its a cracking old pub ,low beams, flagstone floors, open fires etc. The staff were very friendly and the food was gorgeous, plenty of it and very reasonably priced. In fact we enjoyed it so much we called in again on our return journey. This time the weather was glorious and so we could enjoy a lovely meal and a good pint in their beautiful riverside beer garden. We'll done to all at the Trout Inn, we'll certainly be back again.

Nice old pub on the Thames with a large garden next to the river. Definitely worth a visit. Bar service was a bit slow. I had a snack which was actually very good. Will be returning during the summer

Great looking proper pub at a super location It was a very hot weekend. We camped on site having canoed / kayaked down river . Walked into to a cool 😎 flagstoned atmospheric hostelry . We’re treated to free samples of “ Inch “ cider 🍺 as the saying goes give them an Inch and they’ll take a .,…. Needless to say the evening went well food tasty and locals harmless and hospitable. Thanks for making our stay special. You have a great pub 👍don’t change one thing . X
