A Home From Home Experience For Your Dog
You love spending time with your best friend, right? But there are times when you need to leave them or you want a break and can’t take them.
What do you do? You know they will be happiest in a loving home environment with someone who loves dogs and will ensure they are well cared for. You will miss them like crazy but you want to ensure they are happy whether it’s just for the day or a holiday.
That’s where home boarding and doggy day care can help. Offering a home from home environment with the added excitement of being with other dogs. We offer walks, playtime with other dogs, a chance to relax and cuddles (if desired).
Quality Dog Care
Any one offering these services should be licensed by their local authority and hold insurance for their activities. You can be reassured of the standards of care offered and know that your pet is being well looked after. To get a licence you have to demonstrate you know how to care for dogs and that your premises are suitable. The local authorities act under standards set by DEFRA and laws governing animal welfare.
All licensees submit a detailed application and are regularly inspected by animal welfare officers. At Wagalot we are licensed by North Herts District Council and have been awarded their highest star rating for standards of care.
Why Wagalot?
I love dogs and have always been fascinated by them. We’ve co-evolved with dogs over 1000s of years and share a unique relationship with them, unlike any other in the animal kingdom.
I started Wagalot to offer a very personal service to my clients. Building a long-term relationship with both clients and their dogs, so that my clients would be rushing to book their dogs in, knowing they would have a great time, whenever they needed to leave them.
To me the most important aspect of caring for dogs is to treat each of them as the amazing individuals they are. I am passionate about understanding dogs and am currently studying for a degree level course in canine behaviour and management to help me even further.

Victoria Livingston5 StarBrian my Springer Spaniel has been holidaying at Wagalot for years now and I cannot recommend Carol and her service highly enough. She is a true dog lover and she really goes the extra mile to care for the dogs. Brian loves staying there and he runs through the door when I drop him off! When he needed the vet recently while he was staying with Carol, she took care of everything and kept me updated the whole time I was away. You can leave your dog with Carol with complete peace of mind knowing that they are in the best hands! The walks are always fun and varied and long enough for a Springer, which is no mean feat! K Nilles5 StarClover had a great time with Wagalot while we were away for 5 days. She thoroughly enjoyed her time playing with other dogs, going on long walks and snuggling up with Carol. Carol is incredibly knowledgeable, professional and clearly enjoys her overnight guests. Jessica Eaton5 StarCan’t recommend Wagalot enough! We had such an amazing experience with them from the first meeting we knew we wanted them to look after our boy. Carol and Mark clearly love and care very much about the dogs welfare. When we went away, we were kept up to date with how he was getting on with loads of pics and videos which meant we could fully relax knowing he was in safe hands and enjoying himself.
When we needed help with care for our wedding day, Carol stepped in to help so that we could have our boy at our day for some wedding photos and then he was looked after for the rest of the night.

Carol was very reassuring so we had peace of mind that she would be very well cared for and any requests and requirements catered to. Our dog, who can be nervous, has settled well and we know he will be well looked after and receive plenty of exercise and attention.
