My mum was transferred to Westgate last year on first impressions I was dubious but since then apart from the obvious upgrade it needs in decor I find the staff very caring and professional the online diary access is a bonus and the management team seem available and sympathetic to the individual needs of the residents I understand the other comments but you have to put the home into the residents perspective a lot of them are unaware of the decor and live in the past memories of their lives the main dining entertainment area can seem chaotic at times but let’s be honest dementia is a horrid disease and how any family can cope with the loss of a loved one is a struggle my mum barely recognises me now but at least I have the knowledge that she is in a safe caring environment

My dad was only here for 6 months until he passed away but the staff and management here were always good to him and happy to talk with us when we visited. They respected his final wishes and kept us informed on his last few days. It's not a nice thing to recommend a nursing home as it's not the sort of place you want anyone to end up but if you want dignity, cleanliness and care in your relative's time of need then don't hesitate to look round here.

Thank god I moved my father from here, floors were sticky and filthy he had dreadful food and was hit by other residents which wasn't dealt with properly and the staff were too busy eating there own lunch and pot noodles to care. They also said they would do things to stimulate him and help. Utter rubbish and I wouldn't even put my worst enemy in here just a shame I had to tick a star above

Absolute shocking. I am getting my gdad out as soon as. Not letting him be there. * paitents sitting in a hall on garden chairs no sort of comfort. *floors are tiles, my grandad had no shoes on, He has Parkinson so high risk off falls, when spoke with staff, he's prob lost them didn't give a sh** to help find them. *lady had a fall 2 mins later. When I first entered, a lady look me up n down didn't bother who I was an who I came to see. No interaction with any patients, It's a F**ing depressing hell hole. How has this become so bad for our elderly??? Manger is clearly thinking about making the money. I honestly dred to think want happens behind Closed door, CQC would have a field day. Please rethink before you put your love one here
